Can anyone advise how long old code books should be kept?

Based on your insurance contracts how far back can insurance companies go for claim retractions? If there is a problem you don't want to use current year books for older claims since codes and or their definitions can change. I'm not saying keep 10 year old books, but I would check the insruance contracts and keep books at least as far back as insurance companies can go.
