Hello, if a patient is diagnosed with low back pain and receives OMT treatment, do you code the back pain and also the biomechanical lesions such as M99.03 - Segmental and somatic dysfunction of lumbar region? In the ICD-10 book, under the category of M99 Biomechanical lesions, not else classified, the NOTES LISTED SAY: this category should not be used if the condition can be classified elsewhere. I am unclear on what that means. Thank you for your help.
