Does anyone know where I can find the latest guidelines for debridement of open fractures? My doctor is saying that I can now code a 11012 for "each bone" within the same open wound (i.e. distal tib/fib, radius/ulna, cuboid/cuneiform, etc.) The description in the CPT book has changed from "open fracture(s) and/or open dislocation(s)" to "open fracture and/or open dislocation". The work RVU value did not change and hasn't changed for several years. I would think that if debridement of each bone was now billable, the work RVU value would have decreased. Please help!!!
