In Ophthalmology when E/M codes 99202-99215 are being utilized, if the provider's treatment plan is, "patient is asked to return in six months for visual field testing and an IOP check." Where would you place this specific statement under risk of complication and/or morbidity or mortality of patient management column? My initial thoughts are minimal as I don't view those diagnostic tests to be of any risk to the patient, but that could just be my inexperience in this specialty. Additionally if it is viewed as low, would it be different if just one of those tests is ordered? If so, which test is the higher risk to the patient? Appreciate any insight anyone can give!
