Where is the line drawn when doing dental oncology surgery from medical to dental?
What would make it dental if the teeth are involved?

Thanks
Beth

medical versus dental procedures

Hi Beth,
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a very unique department. There is a medical conversion allowed from dental codes to medical codes. Procedures done in Oral surgery can be billed as medical procedures. Teeth extractions can be billed as medical procedures if done in conjunction with other billable medical procedures. Hope this helps.
Regards,
Luz
