My Occupational Health physician needs to order an xray of the orbit-prior to an MRI
The patient works with metal so they needs to make sure there are no metal fragments in the eye prior to the MRI
I am not sure which ICD-10 code is most appropriate for this order
I was looking at Z18.11-is this appropriate?
Thank you in advance for your help

Use the code that triggered the CT request, why did the pt come in? A symptom code perhaps? I wouldn't use any code that has not been confirmed, coding guidelines state...Do not code diagnoses documented as “probable”, “suspected,” “questionable,” “rule out,” or “working diagnosis” or other similar terms indicating uncertainty. Rather, code the condition(s) to the highest degree of certainty for that encounter/visit, such as symptoms, signs, abnormal test results, or other reason for the visit. Look at the code range Z77.010-Z77.018, and Z57.8 (leaning more towards this code). I hope this helps.
