Order needed???

Scenario.....Patient has bariatric surgery and is placed acute. After surgery, the bariatric team sees the patient. On postop day #1, internal medicine takes over care and ends up discharging patient on postop day #2 or #3. My question is, do we need an order from the bariatric team stating care is being transferred to internal medicine?
