Hello,
Need some advice on how to code this one.
The patient had an ORIF on the Left Proximal Humerus on 3/3/16 cam in for a follow up on 5/24/16 and now she has a frozen shoulder, is this considered a complication or a new problem?
She has had pain since the surgery which has inhibited her from regaining her motion.
Do I code a complication code or do I code the frozen shoulder with an E/M code with a modifier 24 and then code the status post with a 99024?
Any suggestions is very much appreciated.
