We are going EHR/Orthopaedic Practice

I work for an orthopaedic practice that's going EHR. I currently work at the goodbye desk and i enter the charges for the day. Now that that will be the doctors responsibility. I understand that the charges have to be checked daily. How would the claim be edited after it is completed by the doctor. If anyone has any information please let me know.
