I have a question on OSIA implants. We were originally instructed by the vendor to use 69799 comparable to 69714. I am getting some pushback that 69714 would suffice. I cannot find any definitive answers on how to bill for OSIA.
thank you for your help

That is correct. After getting mixed messages from online sources, I emailed Cochlear Americas (our vendor) and we were instructed to use the 69799 (there is no CPT or category III code yet) and the device would be L8690.
The 69714 describes a percutaneous attachment, not magnetic.
Hope this helps.
ps - everyone wants to use the 69714 because it's 'close' but that's not correct coding
