Oversew of bleeding from AV fistula

Patient presented acute life-threatening bleeding from AV fistula. Pressure was held above and below the leak. The skin and surrounding tissues were oversewn to include the wall of the aneurysm and to cover it with skin. This was done with continous running #3-0 Prolene. This was tied to itself. This controlled the hemorrhage to where no further pressure was required. The patient still does seem to have a thrill in his fistula.

CPT code 36834 is for a plastic repair of aneurysm and patient is medicare so we know how much they like unlisted codes. Any help is appreciate.

Have you thought of using 35206 repair of blood vessel upper extermitiy or 36832 revision of fistula. I would lean more to repair of blood vessel. Hope this helps.:)
 
I would double check before using the code 35184 because it is for a
CongenitalArteriovenous Fistula and I am thinking this was not the case. :o
