Does anyone know why CPT code 35226-RT will not pass the Clearinghouse to bill to the patient's insurance? I keep getting a message that says 35226 has no equivalent procedure code Elec P1. Am I supposed to add modifier -P1?
 
I don't think the P1 in the error has anything to do with a modifier - P1 modifier is for anesthesia services, so that would not be appropriate here. Perhaps your type of service is somehow set to anesthesia and the system is trying to convert the code to an equivalent anesthesia service code? I think you will need to contact your clearinghouse to get more information on this, the message does not really make any sense to me and I've never seen such an edit.
