New to cardio - can someone please clarify this dx usage for us?

V45.01 and V45.02 for in-person or remote interrogation
V53.31 and V53.32 for reprogramming or other adjustments made

But, I also read:

V45.01 and V45.02 for in-person or remote interrogation - no symptoms
V53.31 and V53.32 for remote interrogation, programming, used also for symptoms or device complications, or is at ERI

Is there anything else I am missing? Please help fill in the blanks, thank you!

V45.01 for pacemaker checks (in person or remote) no symptoms & no reprogramming
V45.02 for ICD checks (in person or remote) no symptoms & no reprogramming

V53.31 pacemaker reprogramming (done in person, have not seen this done remotely) may not have symptoms, just need adjustments
V53.32 ICD reprogramming (also done in person, not remotely) may not have symptoms, just need adjustments

996.01 complications of pacemaker or electrode, could also be with V45.01, includes generator end of life
996.04 complications of ICD, also could be with V45.02

996.72 complications-infection of pacemaker, leads,pocket, ICD

for a patient with symptoms, additional diagnosis may be needed to describe the patients encounter

I hope this helps a little.

Use of codes V45.01, V45.02 and V45.09 are not indicated for device interrogation/reprogramming services as the code descriptor excludes aftercare management which is what these services are.
