Coding pain management and provider dx is "acute post-op pain s/p subtotal gastrectomy"
As per guidelines I am coding 338.18 (acute postop pain), but also from guidelines the relative site should be coded.
I was looking for a p/o ICD-9 for subtotal gastrectomy. V45.75 was found but that referrs to "STOMACH" only.
Not sure if the code can even be used, but it it can would it include partial and total???
If V45.75 not usable what additioanl code, again if any, would be suggested???
