This is a new scenario for our practice. The provider went to do a pain pump medication refill on a patient, but the syringe cracked and the fill was not able to be done and the medications were all wasted. My question is would I bill the 62370 with modifier -53 and then bill J7999 -JW for wasted medications? Or can I bill and E/M along with the J7999 -JW?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
