I am reviewing PAPS previously signed out at our lab. The codes 99070 or 99050 are added in addition to the PAPS CPT CODE 88175. Is there any a reason that you would add these codes? The 99050 says stat and the 99070 says additional thin prep filture. Any help appreciated.

Neither of these is appropriate to be appended to the lab code. 99050 is a code for services rendered in the office setting at times when the office is ordinarily closed, and 99070 is for materials and supplies outside what is ordinarily required for the procedure.
