Can I please get help for dx code for paranoid behavior?

After reviewing the ICD-9-CM for paranoid behavior my determination is 301.0 Paranoid Personality disorder. Any other feed back from Professional Coder other than mind would be greatly appreciated to help get a Dx for rhblevins.

a paranoid personality disorder and a paranoid behavior can be two entirely different things. I would query the provider to obtain clarification befor attaching a personality disorder to this patient. Is this a one time thing is it an emotional state brought on by something? This has happened to all of us at one time and it would be a shame to have a lable of a personality disorder if this is not a true statement.
