I have a case where endoscope only went to gastric antrum where bx was done. Report does not state the intent was to go to the duodenum/jejunum. There was food in the stomach, however. Would you code this as 43202 or 43239? modifier? Thanks.
 
i would use 43239 with modifier 52 since the entire intended procedure was not performed. He went into the stomach so I would not use the esophagoscopy code.
