2 years ago the patient had a HemiColectomy performed. Now, current, the patient has the remaining Colon removed. Is this current Colectomy another Hemi OR a Total Colectomy? Thanks for your thoughts...
 
I would say subtotal/total colectomy because if only a portion of the remaining was removed that would be a second hemicolectomy. Also I believe the ileorectal anastomosis RVU is not included in that of the hemicolectomy but it's going to be global for the total colectomy. Hope this helps!
