The code the facility has chosen represents the total size of the wound 12006 20.1cm-30cm. This section of the CPT 12006 appears to represent the size of the repair rather than the size of the wound. I have queried online but have found no clear direction. In the cases that are given online; the provider is also doing a wound debridement and the direction leans towards coding the debridement over the partial closure.
