Hi everyone!
Can someone please assist me with coding CMV.
My understanding is that 87495, 87496, and 87497 are mutually exlusive of each other, and should not be reported with a mod - 59 when different probe techniques are performed. Currently, we are unbundling the above codes by adding mod -59. I need some back up information to present to my physician other than the cci edit to support why we should/should not append mod -59.
For example, would there be any instance when we would unbundle the techniques for CMV?????
