For codes G0108 and G0109 which is being provided by a Certified Nutritional Dietitian does the provider have to be present in the office as the education/training is taking place?

Is the Certified Dietitian considered a qualified nonphysician health care professional for Diabetic education and training.

My advance thanks for your responses.

a registered dietician is not considered a NPP by CMS.

the dietician can obtain an NPI and if accredited can bill under his/her own NPI number and assign the payments to the practice.

hope this helps
