Patient seen in f/u outpatient visit status post MI within 4 weeks.

Can anyone shed light on how to code for an MI that occurred within the previous 4 weeks and now the patient is following up in their PCP's office? Since it's within the 4 week guideline period, would we still use a code from I21.- or an Aftercare such as Z51.89 encounter for aftercare? Any advice appreciated.
 
Seems to me you would use the I21.- code since it is within the 4 week period. Guidelines state that as long as the MI meets criteria for clinically significant "other diagnoses" that the I21.- code MAY continue to be reported. Using the word "may" leaves a little interpretation.
