Patient Signature on Fee Ticket/Charge Slip

I work in a provider office. Do patients have to sign the fee ticket (Charge slip, etc) verifying the charges for the date of service?

Thank you.

This would depend on your office policies. Generally, most offices do not use this practice. At the time the patient presents for services they sign a consent form which includes a statement in regards to accepting financial responsibility for the services rendered that day. If a patient disputes the charges then the medical records would be used as justification for the services rendered.
