Our ASC provider completed a pAVF but did it without the use of thermal energy/Ellipsys catheter. We have one source that is stating it can be coded as a 36836 and another source that is stating that it has to be coded as a 37799 (unlisted procedure, vascular surgery). Everything in the description was done, except for the thermal energy listed in the notes section.
How would you code this? Can this be coded as 36836 with a -52 modifier?
