Hello!
Can anyone tell me how the billing works for Medicare and injections...Kenalog, Toradol....
Can you bill these drugs through Part B? Or does a patient have to pick them up at a pharmacy through Part D?
I am currently a coder for an OB/GYN who is expanding their practice. So I will be doing Primary Care also.
Thanks in advance!

For the type of drugs you are speaking of, you bill them through Medicare Part B, pretty much the same as commercial insurance. Medicare does have coverage decisions on joint injections, trigger point injections, etc., so you will know what the covered indications (diagnoses) are.
