We recently hired a Psych N.P. to see our Behavioral and Psych patients to take some of the load off of our other Physicians. We were wondering if anyone knows what we should use for a Procedure code for her appointments. We know that Medicaid will not pay for consult codes so we are wondering what we should use for her consult appts and her med managment appts.

Did you ever get an answer on what kinds of codes to use for a psychiatric nurse practitioner? I have a new one at my clinic and I too am unsure if it is e/m codes or psych cpt codes or both?
