I have a question that maybe somebody can help me with. When we transfer a pediatric patient to a tertiary care facility, (often respiratory problem, we are giving bedside nebs, getting ABG's, and observing) Does this fit under "critical care" billing? How would this be documented?

I know there are pediatric critical care patient transport codes, but these are for patients 24 months and younger. I'm assuming the normal "critical care" code sets 99291-99292 are for 24 months and older, but this doesn't include transport.

And also, if we put kids on continuous nebs in the ward, is this billable?

Any input is greatly appreciated. :D

Thank you,
Ashleigh
