I work for a group of Pediatric Hospitalists. If a PCP wants to send a pt to the hospital floor for a peds hospitalist to evaluate and possibly treat with a breathing treatment, etc., how would that visit be coded? The pt has not been admitted and may not need admission but the PCP would like the opinion of the peds hospitalist. The pt has not been to the ED. The pt would come directly to the floor to be evaluated.

Would this be like a consult except with possible treatment?

Thanks!
