Hi - May I know what is the CPT code for PENS percutaneous electrical nerve stimulation and the reimbursement from Medicare.
 
Hi there, if you're asking about inserting the neurostimulator the code 64555.

Medicare reimbursement varies by locality. Check with your MAC.
 
Hi - It is not about inserting neurostimulator. I did a google search for PENS treatment and the CPT code that came up was
64999 but I think this is no longer in use. We are a pain management specialty and the common diagnosis that we will be doing PENS treatment for would be chronic neck pain, chronic low back pain, etc
 
You need to report the procedure using the unlisted CPT code 64999 that you listed above, submit the claim with records clearly stating the true description of the services-and if you can locate a "proxy" code that the payer can use to compare, add that to your letter when submitting the unlisted code/records -
