Is there anyone who has any coding information on CPT 62287? I am trying to find out when coding for an ASC if there are any cases where 62287 may be used more than once when performed on 2 levels.

Just recently, I have gotten 3 op notes in which the physician has done a percutaneous HydroCision diskectomy on L4-L5 and L5-S1 in the same operative session. The code states "single or multiple levels" but it just doesn't seem to add up since there are 2 incisions. I want to make sure that I am not missing something!

Any help would be greatly appreciated..:D
 
I'm thinking that this is only codeable one time per surgical session. The CPT description does state "multiple" therefore it would not matter how many incisions were made.
 
I agree with Mary in regards to billing 62287 only once. Also, remember the fluoro 77003 if ASC.
