Wiki Peripherals and Conscious Sedation

I posted this question if conscious sedation can be billed for during cath's and TEE's. As I suspected this can not be done.

Now my cardiologist says that we can bill conscious sedation while doing peripherals. I don't see the difference if all are done in the hospital setting. Please advise.

Sedation codes

I always use the appendix G in the CPT book and if the code isn't there, you can bill for it. Good luck!
 
Also, look for the "moderate sedation" symbol next to the code. Look at the bottom of the page for the symbol. Appendix G is a great resource to utilize.
