Hello, I'm trying to find a cpt code for the periurethral laceration bilateral? I have looked at the 56810 but that one says nonobstetrical which I don't want and it comes up as PERINEOPLASTY .
Or I was looking at the urethral repair as well. Need some guidance. Thanks in Advance. Alexis

So this is a repair from a delivery? If the repair is done by the delivering provider, and is 1st or 2nd degree, it is not separately billable. If there was a 3-4 degree laceration, a mod 22 can be added to the delivery or a repair code can be separately billed. If a non delivering provider does the repair (eg a midwife delivered and an MD did the repair) then 59300 could be billed.

Yes this is from the delivery. I know usually it is included in the delivery billing but as said in my next sentence -->Well the patient was brought back into the OR 4 hours later to repair this laceration. There was no degree noted and the Delivering provider repaired it. Thanks!
