patient comes in for fitting of pessary, pessary is ordered and patient returns for placment. patient has medicare. A4562 is used for the pessary. what codes would be suggested for fitting and placement of the pessary?
 
57160 is used for fitting and insertion of pessary (or other intravaginal support device) - this is the code we use when the providers insert the pessary the initial time. If a patient comes back for pessary cleaning that is billed with the appropriate E&M code, not 57160.
