Need a little help here....pt diagnosed with "phantom eye pain". Is there a generic phamtom pain dx that I could substitute? :confused:
 
Aside from generlized pain, NOS 780.96, all I'm coming up with is:

379.90 Disorders of the eye, unspecified
379.99 Other ill-defined disorders of the eye
379.91 Pain, in or around the eye

If this is psychogenic pain, you might check out the codes around 307.80.

Just some suggestions.
 
I queried one of our docs and 353.6 (phantom limb pain) seems to be the concensus. The doc tells me that the term limb is also usable for eyes, etc.

Just food for thought.
