I had a co worker ask the following question, can anyone help? thanks in advance for your time.

Our doctors use 99478, 99479 and 99480 which is by weight, do you use the weight and age of baby as they gain? Or do you use the dx codes that are more critical care with these CPT? I tried looking up something to give to my boss that would explain how we are to use these CPT codes and I come up for a loss.

You would definitely include the codes for the weight of the baby to correspond with the use of these codes but use also the codes for the issues that the baby has.
