When coding in ICD-9 our organization used the V57.1 as primary dx then the reason for visit as secondary. Will this be necessary in ICD-10?

There is no equivalent code to V57.1. The new guidelines for rehab state to use the reason the patient needs rehab. If the condition no longer exisits you do not code it such as a joint replacement due to osteoarthritis you will code as aftercare following joint replacement. Injury and trauma is not coded with Z codes so you use the appropriate 7th character. Please read your coding guidelines for all of this information.
