Wiki Physical Therapy modifier??

I really need some input, is there a modifier that a PT can use when someone else is covering their patients while they are out sick or on vacation? Currently we have had other PT's come in to cover and hold several patient's notes for the original PT to sign off on when they return. Is that our only option without running into a mess with insurance carriers? Thanks!
