Can a LPN legally perform physical therapy as incident to a physician if there is a written plan and the physician is on site even though she has never had any physical therapy training? I have read that if they are not a licensed physical therapist that they must have taken an accredited physical therapy training program. The physician I work for says an attorney told him a licensed nurse can do it even though she has not had any physical therapy training. I do not think that is correct. I have asked him to have the attorney provide me with proof of this but I would like to know if any of you can answer this? Thanks for your help as always.
