A provider saw a pt for a Preventive medicine service. She also documented that the pt had a life crisis and spent 20 mins on phone getting names and numbers of mental health providers. Can we charge for that seperatley?

Was this an inpatient or outpatient visit? If outpatient, billing for time requires, in part, direct face-to-face contact.
