question......if a physician is doing and injection or some other procedure at an ASC he has to append a 26 modifier in order to bill for his services that were done. Is this correct???
 
Yes, the ASC bills the TC (facilities component), so, your physician bills only the professional component (26). Also, use a POS code of 24 (ASC) instead of 11 (Office).
