My problem is when a physician is documenting an x ray and all he puts is WNL as his interpetation of films. Is this enough? I don't think so but my doc's need to be shown so formal documentation stating we need more. Does anyone have a link that provides information as to what is acceptable for the interpetation to be considered adequate?

Thanks,
Rich

Interpretaion of X-ray

The providers in our group must follow CMS Manual 100-4 Chapter 13 Section 100-1 if they want to get paid for the -PC of the x-ray.
The separate dictated report is put into the chart under the x-ray tab. Only the summary of findings are in the process note; which is where WNL can be documented.
