Responsibilities:
Billing & Coding for our Urgent Care Centers using our internal software
1. Setting up insurance plans within our software
2. Determining fees to be charged at time of service based on patient insurance plans
3. Performing insurance verification ? Posting charges & payments, submitting & following up on claims
4. Working with the Revenue Cycle Management to identify & resolve issues related to billing, coding and the billing system and process flow
5. Interfacing with clinic staff on billing & coding issues.
6. Interfacing with patients on billing questions via our customer service helpline.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. 2+ years of experience in medical billing
2. CPC Certification or equivalent
3. Urgent Care and Occupational Health Billing experience is a plus Required Skills
4. Knowledge of insurance payers, insurance verification, the AR/revenue billing lifecycle and appealing denied claims
5. Excellent Computer skills - expertise in MS word suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in using one or more Practice Management Systems/Billing Software
6. Energy, enthusiasm and the ability to work under pressure in a high volume, fast paced, unstructured start-up environment
7. Ability to work within a team environment and maintain a positive attitude
8. Excellent documentation, verbal and written communication skills
9. Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail
10. Motivated, dependable and flexible with the ability to handle periods of stress and pressure
