Just would like a general idea of what others do....we are having different opinions here...
My ortho doc saw a patient in the ER for a dislocated hip. Had to do a CR and was not able to obtain in the ER. So decision was made to take to the OR. After the procedure the patient was dismissed. The hospital has the patient listed as an outpatient. So I am submitting the EM with the ER place of service code, and then submitting the CR under an outpatient place of service code. Some are saying they submit everything under the ER place of service code. What do you guys do? Thanks. Carol.
