Can someone please assist

Operation: EXPLORATORY LAPAROTOMY,DEBRIDEMENT OF A RIGHT RETROPERITONEL ABCESS,DEBRIDEMENT OF A LEFT PERITONEAL ABCESS AND DEBRIDEMENT OF A PERIPANCREATIC AND PERISPLENIC ABSCESS.


" A window was made in the paracolic space entering into the peritoneum.there was some obvious purulent drainage from this area and cultures were sent.Next, the space was furhter opened up using blunt dissection.Some necrotic debris was removed from this space.After debriding this space superiorly and medially and furhter inferiorly, all necrotic debris appeared removed"


I am having trouble in choosing a surgical debridemnt code (11042-11047) or I am looking at the wrong set of codes all together?


I would greatly appreciate someones input.

What about 11005? I think that code better suits your case. See what you think.

I would consider open codes, but would want to see the op note for sure. Since you labeled it as exploratory laparotomy I am inclined to look at some other codes for example:
49060, also 48105.
