Physician documents as final diagnosis 1. non-ST elevated myocardial infarction
2. acute coronary artery obstruction without myocardial infarction.

What would be the correct codes in this case as #2 diagnosis states without MI and #1 diagnosis is definitely documented as a myocardial infarction.

Would it be best to clarify the two diagnosis codes with the physician as they seem to be conflicting?

Thank you for any help.

Yes, it is always advisable to get back to physician to confirm the Dx, as these 2 diagnosis are contradicting.
