I work for Urgent Care and one of the doctors had asked me for guidance with the following


patient has catheter inserted in hospital and needs bag replaced (initial visit) - E&M code? can we bill for the Bag?

Patient has catheter inserted at hospital and we need to remove and replace the whole catheter


patient has a clot and we need to irrigation of foley catheter

I bill for the clinic side, so I am not sure about the first one, but I can answer the other 2.

2. You can bill 51702 or 51703 (difficult cath).

3. Bill 51700 for the irrigation.
