Hello Coders,

Is there any differnce between superior and medial plica. Some of my reports do have the physician dictating major synovectomy and it this process removing superior and medial plicas. To my extent of knowledge, both these plica have their origin in suprapatellar compartment. Hence i code it 29875 only and not 29876.

Please suggest with validations if i am correct or not in this approach to provide correct codes.

Hai Amit,
Superior & medial plica refers to anatomical position both are in same compartment only. so it is appropriate to bill 29875 & You are correct on this line.
