I have a podiatrist that insists he can bill for 97112, or 97032, if you just use a GP modifier. Is anyone familiar with this situation?

We do not have a physical therapist in the office.

Yes, a podiatrist can provide services and bill CPTs 97112 and 97032 with modifier GP. Be sure it's properly documented in the record. There should be a "plan of care" summary in the record.

Podiatrist are trained in PT for the feet.

Hope this helps,
