Hi All,
Please help as to what CPT code for procedure below;

A:
Fissures b/l heel
*
*
P:
Aseptic debridement of heel fissures
Continue moisturizing cream
Recommend to wear socks
RTc 2 months

I don't see anything that can be coded here. 'P' in this context normally stands for 'Plan', so the debridement may be planned, but there is no procedure documented as having been done here.
 
There are a number of different codes for debridement procedures depending on the techniques used and the depth of tissue debrided, so it would be necessary to review the procedure report to come up with a definitive code. Just based on this description, I would expect the service would likely be coded with CPT 97602 or possibly 97597/97598, but again, it would depend on exactly what was documented.
